Digital technologies for sustainable processes in wine manufacturing

Whether you want to reduce the CO2 emissions of your plant, reduce costs or improve product quality – use digital fluid control solutions to optimise these three essential business goals. This is possible for both small and large wine production processes, thanks to modular concepts by Bürkert.

With the right application, digital technologies can considerably reduce overall project costs and speed up implementation. The low effort required for the installation, integration and start-up of digital fluid control solutions saves time and labour costs. Regular operating costs can also be reduced by reducing waste and optimising processes. Environmental targets can be considerably improved with progressive energy and waste management. The increased flexibility also enables easy and economical adjustments to be made in order to react to changing demands and consumer preferences.

The implementation of digital systems and intelligent field devices with progressive diagnosis reduces the overall risk. Direct safety integration is easy to carry out. Quality improvements can be achieved in both the end product and operating procedures. Digital technology ensures accuracy and repeatability, while also offering the wine manufacturer the ultimate flexibility.

Increased safety

From expanded diagnostic and monitoring options to direct safety integration – our solutions will ensure safe production processes. The package also includes a wide range of approvals and certificates.

Improved product quality

Be it precise, repeatable monitoring of gases or liquids, or digital connectivity: you’ll benefit from our solutions for tank pressure control and gas overlay, accurate oxygen supply and temperature control in order to improve your end product.

Reduced overall operating costs

Avoid waste by using our innovative FLOWave flowmeter, to accurately record phase transitions between different media types for efficient cleaning, product delivery and recovery. Decentralised automation and digital communication save time and costs during installation, start-up and maintenance.

Linearisation of control valve characteristicsLinearisation of control valve characteristics

There are a variety of valve types with different advantages and disadvantages for process control. Angle seat valves are cost-efficient and have a high flow capacity. Diaphragm valves are hygienic and minimise dead space. However, the S-shaped valve characteristic of both types means that the desired gain is only achieved in a relatively small stroke range. Their use is therefore limited. This white paper describes possibilities for linearising S-shaped valve characteristics in order to achieve a characteristic curve that is as linear as possible. This allows the control range of diaphragm and angle seat valves to be increased and process control to be significantly accelerated.

FLOWave: Detecting media changeover

The pipeline has to be rinsed with cleaning fluid after each batch process. This causes product rejects. Discover how FLOWave flowmeter reduces rejects and increases plant efficiency.

Cutting costs with correctly configured temperature control

The topic of temperature control is a constant presence when you are active in food and beverage production - for example pasteurisation. With a Bürkert solution, you can achieve consistently high product quality with the help of correctly configured temperature control. Our solution also reduces the energy and maintenance costs of your plant. This is because we understand that your production process is not only focused on ever-increasing hygiene and quality requirements, but also on maximum efficiency of operation.Discover here how Bürkert can help you implement precise and economical temperature control.

Decentralised automation

Your food or pharmaceutical production processes must be efficient, safe and hygienic. To ensure the processing of valuable raw materials without residues and cross-contamination, to ensure constant product quality and not to risk downtime, digital process monitoring is essential. The easiest way to achieve this is with decentralised automation solutions that can control intelligent components locally and react quickly. To ensure that such a valve technology of short distances fits optimally into your existing machine or system concepts, we advise you objectively and have solution-neutral offers ready for you. In the process, we reduce everything you can do without to a minimum: complexity, risk and engineering effort. We will be more than happy to advise you!
