Cheque presented to children's hospice
Donation by Bürkert employees goes to Schwäbisch Hall

In January, three Bürkert employees presented a donation on behalf of the workforce to the outpatient children’s and young people’s hospice in Schwäbisch Hall, Germany. The donation of 1,650 euros was collected as part of a raffle at the Bürkert Christmas market and aims to support the hospice’s voluntary work. Johannes Nader, works council member at Bürkert Fluid Control Systems, Ines Beetz, chair of the youth and trainee delegation at Bürkert (JAV for short), and Tommy Beck, deputy JAV chair, visited the outpatient children’s and young people’s hospice in Schwäbisch Hall, Germany, on 14 January to hand over a donation cheque.
The donation of 1,650 euros comes from the proceeds of the annual Christmas raffle, which traditionally takes place in December at the Bürkert Christmas market. In this raffle, employees have the opportunity to buy tickets and win prizes. All proceeds from the raffle are then donated to a good cause. Since 2023, the youth and trainee delegation has been involved in the organisation of the raffle and, among other responsibilities, is tasked with choosing who will receive the donation. This year, the decision was made to support the outpatient children’s and young people’s hospice in Schwäbisch Hall: “Firstly, it was important to us that the donation stayed in the region, and secondly, we wanted to support work with children,” explains Ines Beetz, chair of the JAV at Bürkert, adding: “The valuable work the hospice volunteers do in supporting families who have suffered severe blows of fate is truly impressive. We would like to help support this work with our donation.”
Thanks to all who donated
As all of the work at the hospice is done on a voluntary basis, the volunteers at the hospice were particularly delighted with the donation. Astrid Winter, coordinator at the hospice, accepted the donation on behalf of the facility and expressed her gratitude. During the handover, she also shared experiences and stories from her daily work with Bürkert employees. The donation will support the volunteers in the valuable work they do at the hospice to support families.
Help for families in difficult times
The Schwäbisch Hall children’s and young people’s hospice is an outpatient service that supports and assists families with terminally ill children or where a parent is seriously ill, dying or has died. It offers comprehensive psychosocial support and respite, starting from the moment of diagnosis. The hospice helps families as they care for their relatives and during the grieving process, and also provides assistance with organisational matters. One particularly important aspect is that the hospice’s services are free of charge for the affected families.
