No way! Michael Aldrich basically invented online shopping as early as 1979 by simply connecting a modified household television set to a telephone line. The term eCommerce was coined much later, but this early system for handling an online transaction between consumer and business was the first of its kind in Britain and the world. Incredibly, eCommerce (in its simplest form) has been around for 40 years!
