Winning the Baden-Württemberg Environmental Technology Award
Every two years, the Baden-Württemberg Ministry for the Environment, Climate and Energy Sector awards the Umwelttechnikpreis Baden-Württemberg – a special environmental technology award – to companies in the state that make a significant contribution to protecting the environment or conserving natural resources with their innovative products, technologies and processes. In addition to the jury's special prize, prizes will be awarded in the categories "energy efficiency", "material efficiency and resource conservation", "circular economy and avoidance of environmental pollution" and " digitisation, AI, and measurement and control technology ".
This year, we were pleased to win the Umwelttechnikpreis in the category digitisation, AI, and measurement and control technology with ValveInsight, the innovative diagnostic function for our valves with electrodynamic actuators, our solenoid valve series "Whisper Valves".

Smart Devices – No Additional Sensors Required
The technology
Under the name ValveInsight, we combine diagnostic functions based on the analysis of the inrush current of our Whisper Valves. With conventional valves, it is often difficult to determine whether a valve has actually switched – additional sensors would be required, which are expensive and complex to integrate. This is exactly where ValveInsight comes in: a specially developed algorithm evaluates the current flow during activation and provides precise information on whether the valve is operating as intended. This is made possible by the patented electrodynamic drive technology of the Whisper Valves.
Your benefits
The ValveInsight algorithm is available to you free of charge and can be easily integrated into your existing electronics. No additional sensors are required – the intelligence is built directly into your device. Your valves automatically report as soon as a malfunction occurs, and you immediately know which valve is affected. This increases process reliability and opens up completely new application possibilities.
During operation, you can avoid rejects because malfunctions are detected and corrected immediately. Compared to traditional quality control methods, this saves valuable resources and reduces unnecessary waste.
