Michael Haak has been application advisor for product configurators at Bürkert for six years. This means that he develops new software, creates programs and instals server systems. There are many exciting and diverse tasks that require creative solutions. But Michael Haak not only resolves the problems that are presented to him. He often drives projects forward in order to make his own work more efficient.
Michael Haak truly appreciates the freedom and responsibility that Bürkert gives him and his colleagues. "We monitor the projects from beginning to end, further developing them, optimising them. We in IT are just as involved as our colleagues in other departments." This, he says, gives him a direct relationship with the products that Bürkert manufactures and sells.
This is what sets Bürkert apart from other companies, says Michael Haak. IT is often a sort of separate entity that rarely has contact with the other departments. This is partially because many companies only seek out and hire IT specialists for specific projects. Once these projects are complete, the specialists are no longer needed. "It’s different at Bürkert," says Michael Haak. He also took the position because Bürkert offers him long-term prospects. "The combination of creative freedom and the security of a traditional, family-operated company is optimal at Bürkert."
