Tips and tricks for downloading 3D models

Would you like to view and download the right 3D CAD data for your Bürkert products? Our step-by-step instructions will help you to obtain the right file faster.

How do you download 3D models?

We provide the CAD data on our website for you through the CADENAS platform. Due to the variety of our products, we offer only a selected range on the corresponding article detail pages with CAD data that can be directly called up. If you need a 3D model from outside of this range, you can assemble it using product-specific characteristics. There are therefore two different procedures to obtain your 3D model.

  1. Finding the 3D model using the identification number:
✓ Check first whether a CAD model is offered on the article detail page of the article you have selected. The model can be called up via the “Open CAD model” button. We will explain the procedure in detail here.
  2. Filtering 3D models using product-specific characteristics:
✓ No CAD model is integrated into the article detail page of the desired product? The 3D model for the article is therefore not immediately available for download. In this case, the 3D model can be filtered using the product-specific characteristics. You can find tips and tricks for this here.

We are working continuously to expand the available 3D models. Our colleagues in technical sales are happy to help you with any questions.

1. Finding your 3D model using the identification number

You can easily determine whether the CAD data for your article can be called up immediately on the article detail page:

  1. First enter the article number into the search bar and select the product in the search results.
  2. Check in the image overview below the product photo whether a CAD model is available.
  3. If it is, select the “Open CAD model” button.

Is a CAD model available for the article? We will explain the next individual steps using an example. Let’s assume that you would like to download a 3D model in STEP format for the Bürkert 2/2-way solenoid valve type 6281 with article number 221858. You can then follow the instructions step by step to finish the download of the 3D model:

  • Step 1:

Select the icon for "CAD models" under the product photo.

  • Step 2:

The product photo is replaced by a new button. Here you click on "Open CAD model".

  • Step 3:

If you have not yet logged in, you will be asked to do so now. If you do not have a user account for Bürkert Online Services yet, you can register in just a few steps.

  • Step 4:

In logged in state, a new window appears. Click the grey button here to open the CADENAS portal in a new tab.

  • Step 5:

The article data is displayed and the preview of the model appears on the righthand side.

  • Step 6:

By clicking on the menu you can switch between different display formats in the preview, for example between a 2D or 3D view.

  • Step 7:

Now select your desired formats via the navigation item "Add formats".

  • Step 8:

In this example, you would now select "STEP AP214 (3D) - Download".

  • Step 9:

Now click on the button "Generate CAD MODEL". The model is loaded in the background. Then click on "Download".

  • Step 10:

The CAD files are usually displayed as a zip file during the download and directly after completion at the left, lower edge of the screen. This is also automatically located in the download folder of your computer.

2. Filtering your 3D model using product-specific characteristics

If there is no 3D model directly assigned to your desired article number, no CAD model button is displayed on the article detail page.

In this case, we offer an alternative option to assemble your 3D CAD model yourself using product-specific characteristics.

Before you get started, you should have the following ready:
✓ Relevant type number for the selected article
✓ Product-specific data for the article

It is best to use an example to explain the procedure here too. Let’s assume that you need a 3D model of the Bürkert 2/2-way solenoid valve type 6027. In this case, enter the type number of the product in the search bar of the Bürkert website. Each Bürkert article number is assigned to a type. If you do not know the type number, you can find this on the type label of your Bürkert product or by entering the article number on the website:

Select the product type 6027 to go to the type detail page. In the following video, we show you how you can obtain your 3D model with a couple of tips and tricks:
