Bürkert will be unveiling its new Type 8030 EX flow sensor at ExploRisk. The impeller sensor with a frequency output measures the flow and doses aggressive or neutral liquid media in environments where there is an explosion risk. The sensor variant with the approval in accordance with ATEX II 2G EEx ia ll C T6 and which is suitable for use in Ex Zone 1 is new. Here, electrical activation is via an approved isolation module or a barrier.
The main area in which the flow sensor 8030 EX is used is in measuring and dosing flammable or explosive media in petrochemicals, biochemistry (mixing oil / methanol, VE water in explosion risk areas), paint manufacture (dosing the additives), alcohol production (distillation) and large compressor construction (cooling the compressors in the explosion risk area).
The flow sensor 8030 Ex supplements the Bürkert modular sensor concept. It consists of a fitting into which the impeller sensor is integrated, and an electronic module. The electronic module is connected to the fitting via a bayonet connection. All common international connections are available for the fitting.
The sensor provides a frequency signal proportional to the flow, which can be transmitted via an Ex isolation amplifier to the Bürkert flow transmitter 8025T and to the dosing controller 8025D, or also to a PLC.
