Bürkert at the Hannover Trade Fair 2006: System solutions with added value

Ongoing positive growth

Ingelfingen, April 24, 2006 - For Bürkert Fluid Control Systems, this year's Hannover Fair for is once more under the sign of system solutions in the pneumatic process chain. Product highlights are an innovative modular process valve system as well as the new level sensors Type 8045 and 8050. Bürkert continues to grow and is, in the year of its 60th anniversary, also planning to increase sales.

In 2006 Bürkert is focusing on pharmaceutical, biotechnological and chemical applications. This is also reflected in the new products: Bürkert presents an innovative, modular process valve system which can be tailored even more closely to customer needs. The stainless steel valve for process automation combines a new actuation concept with the latest connection technology communicating intelligently with every control system; parameterization, for example, can be done by remote control. With design and materials laid out for the food & beverage, pharmaceutical and biotech industries, the system offers two levels of function: either as a pure valve or with integrated intelligence for process control or field bus communication. Thus the sensor and valve technology allow for decentralized control and optimal adjustment.

Another highlight at the Hannover Fair is the new sensor series for hygienic sphere and water treatment. The level sensors Type 8045 and 8050 extend the process valve system range and represent the access to a completely new technology. On the one hand, they concern compact solutions for example for cooling system applications, on the other, process technology for filling level measurement, using different measuring techniques appropriate to the particular application.

Sensor technology and actuation are now closely aligned with the automation of the valve blocks and the I/O Box concept for the different communication stages, either in hygienic or explosion-protected applications.

Continuing growth

In the financial year of 2005, Bürkert was able to continue the positive growth development of the last years, mainly by further expanding the company's activities; for instance, Bürkert founded a branch in India, opening up a new market. In addition, the company took over the assets of the Swedish diaphragm valve manufacturer Robolux last year. "However, we will continue to focus on organic growth not only being generated by acquisitions," says Heribert Rohrbeck, CEO of Bürkert. All in all, Bürkert is optimistic about the future as the overall economic situation continues to recover. Positive market trends combined with increasing competition need to be countered with large investments in research & development as well as at the different sites to be able to maintain the leading position in technology.

Profitable growth is the main objective in 2006 as well as putting more emphasis on added value for the customer. Thus Bürkert plans to invest not only in the Sales process but above all in the development of new system solutions.  "This is nothing new," Rohrbeck explains, "as every company is striving to play an active part in the systems business. We differentiate ourselves from our competitors by offering our customers measurable added value." This is above all achieved by high-quality and innovative products, a wide range of products providing a "one-stop shop" for the customer, and by customized system engineering solutions.
